There are many volunteer opportunities at the Carroll County Public Library. In our library branches, volunteers play an important role in helping staff maintain the branch, assisting with collection maintenance, and with program development. At library headquarters, volunteers help with various clerical tasks. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age by the time they begin volunteering.

Service learning may be available for students who volunteer. Students are responsible for checking with their school to verify that their hours will qualify. For more information, contact your local branch.

Summer Reading Volunteer applications will be available in all library branches during the first two weeks of April each year. The number of positions at each branch is limited. All applicants must be age 12 by April 15th. All Summer Reading Volunteer applications must be turned in by April 15th.
